The next shipment of Clem Smith Jr. bikes is expected to arrive in February or March 2026, and pre-orders are open now. Quantities are limited, so we strongly recommend pre-ordering early to reserve your bike. Please note, this a pre-order deposit only! About the Clem Smith Jr.

The Clem Smith Jr. is Rivendell’s fat-tire, upright, ultra-stable, do-everything joy machine—and the most affordable bike in their lineup. Designed for comfort, practicality, and pure riding pleasure, the Clem is ideal for everyday riding, relaxed adventures, commuting, errands, and long meandering rides where speed matters far less than smiles.

Clems are built to run wide tires, accept racks and fenders easily, and keep the rider in a naturally upright, confident position. The geometry is calm and stable, making it a bike that feels welcoming from the first pedal stroke and remains comfortable for hours on end.

Unlike Rivendell’s fully lugged frames, the Clem Smith Jr. is TIG-welded at the head tube joints, which significantly reduces production time and cost. That’s the only reason it’s more affordable—not because of lesser materials or lower ride quality. These frames are made by the same builders, using the same steel, and they ride every bit as well as Rivendell’s higher-priced models.

Despite being TIG-welded, the Clem is packed with distinctive Rivendell details you won’t find on other bikes at any price:

• A beautiful investment-cast fork crown, designed exclusively by Rivendell

• Investment-cast “napkin-ring” head tube reinforcements, cream-painted with Rivendell Bicycle Works ovals

• An investment-cast seat lug with exceptionally strong and practical binder bolt ears, using simple, globally available hardware that’s easy to replace anywhere in the world

To reserve your bike, place a pre-order deposit now. Once your Clem Smith Jr. is secured, we’ll contact you directly to confirm sizing, setup, and timing. These bikes arrive as complete builds from Rivendell, and we’ll make sure everything is dialed in properly before delivery. Frame-only purchases are not available at this time.

Because Rivendell produces bikes in small batches, quantities are extremely limited.
