Moonrise Bike Ride 2022 NEW Moonrise Campfire Option

For those of you that can’t get enough Moonrise Bike Ride we’re planning a NEW Friday night campout option at Base Camp Flint Hills. Basecamp Flint Hills is a beautiful primitive camping area on the Flint Hills Trail about half way between Council Grove and Pomona Lake State Park. You can ride you bicycle from Council Grove to Base Camp on Friday evening, camp overnight with us, and ride the rest of the way to Pomona Lake State Park on Saturday for the big event.
We've got lots of fun planned for the evening including a chuckwagon dinner and live music around the campfire. It should be a magical evening under the starts.
If you choose to participate in the Campfire you will need to be self-supported on the trail BUT gear transportation will be available. You'll just need to drop your bags off and pick up at a designated location in Council Grove. You can choose to get to Base Camp Flint Hills any way you want and you can customize your weekend and timeline any way you want.
Most riders will start in Council Grove and ride to Base Camp Flint Hills on Friday. This means you'll have to ride all of the way back to Council Grove on Sunday. But, if you want to start from Osage City you'll have a shorter ride back to your car on Sunday. Or, if you are short on time you can drive to Base Camp Flint Hills and start from there on Saturday.
